Nowadays, the term "video-gamer" (or "gamer" for short) becomes more and more popular each day. These are people who spend most of their free time playing computer games. There are tens of new Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games (MMORPG), like "WoW" (World of Warcraft), "Lord of the Rings" and many others, that are launched every month.

That's why, it is no surprise that people tend to spend most of their free time staying connected to another MMORPG. I personally have a number of friends who dedicate at least three hours a day to "WoW". And the most surprising fact is that they claim that it isn't enough for them...
So, what forces such people to spend so much time for nothing? The most popular answer is something like: "I just don't have anything else to do." I guess you expect to receive such an answer from a 10 year old kid, but you are wrong.
most of the gamers are above 20 years old in UK and they spendmore than 12 hours a week playing. I didn't believe this, at first.

The main reason for working so hard to be successful in "online reality" is the lack of ability to succeed in the real life. Usually, gamers are bullied by other people, which develops psychological problems, like low self-confidence, in them. Since it doesn't matter who is behind the screen in games, people aren't afraid to act there.
Of course, there are cases when gamers just don't want to do anything about their life. Having 12 years of gaming experience, they don't want to leave it for achieving important goals, because in order to achieve something important, you have to work hard. And working hard will surely take away the precious time ofgaming.
In fact, their schedule turns into the following scheme: Going to Clg - Playing - Sleeping - Playing. As a result, they "run around" the same circle and eventually"close" themselves from the outer world.
In my opinion, such situation is already a huge problem of the whole society, because there are millions of gamers all over the world who stick to that horrible scheme of living. And if we don't do something about it, gaming will harm humanity as hard as drugs do.
Since it is already impossible to get completely rid of addiction to video-games, I would suggest servers to run only at certain times. In addition, we should affect our addicted friends to participate in sport or chess clubs, for example. This way, gamers will simply be forced to return to the normal life.
And what do you think about being a video-gamer? Is it acceptable or not and what could you suggest in order to fight this problem?
